Implementing a major software platform across multiple high-volume commercial laundries is never just about technology — it’s about people, processes, and leadership.
At SPL, I led the rollout of Spindle, a sophisticated laundry process management software, across six operational plants nationally. This ambitious project required not only technical oversight but also the commitment and change management expertise to ensure a smooth transition for over 1,000 team members.
The challenges were significant. Each site had its legacy systems, established workflows, and cultural dynamics. Driving alignment across these diverse operations demanded:
Clear communication of the vision to staff at every level
Comprehensive training programs tailored for operators, supervisors, and management
Proactive issue resolution to maintain production during the transition
Consistent engagement with frontline teams to build buy-in and reduce resistance
Through a combination of strategic planning and hands-on leadership, I was able to navigate these complexities and embed Spindle as a core operational tool. The result was not just a successful software deployment but a step-change in productivity, reporting, and operational visibility across the group.
