Spindle roll out across eight SPL plants

Implementing a major software platform across multiple high-volume commercial laundries is never just about technology — it’s about people, processes, and leadership.

At SPL, I led the rollout of Spindle, a sophisticated laundry process management software, across six operational plants nationally. This ambitious project required not only technical oversight but also the commitment and change management expertise to ensure a smooth transition for over 1,000 team members.

The challenges were significant. Each site had its legacy systems, established workflows, and cultural dynamics. Driving alignment across these diverse operations demanded:

  • Clear communication of the vision to staff at every level

  • Comprehensive training programs tailored for operators, supervisors, and management

  • Proactive issue resolution to maintain production during the transition

  • Consistent engagement with frontline teams to build buy-in and reduce resistance

Through a combination of strategic planning and hands-on leadership, I was able to navigate these complexities and embed Spindle as a core operational tool. The result was not just a successful software deployment but a step-change in productivity, reporting, and operational visibility across the group.
